Default Going Through O2 Sensors Like Crazy Need Help

For some unknown reason Ive been going through O2 sensors really quickly. I mean I can put one in and it lasts 2 weeks or so then it just dies and CEL comes on and starts to throw a code 1 for O2 content again. Anyone have any idea why I am going through these so fast? I dont have any left and they are fairly expensive to replace constantly, but if I dont the cost of gas will kill me.

Anyone have an idea on why this is going on? Something related to heat or something maybe? I tried to do a self diagnostic but was unable to assertain what the problem is. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

No mods. It just a stock D15B engine with a single wire O2 sensor. Its very mind boggling to me why this is happening.

It's running too rich for some reason. Sorry I can't offer much more help that that. Is the car smoking at all?

You wont be saying whoopedy do when you notice your gas mileage going down to about 8-10 MPG.

I can floor it from a stop and watch my gas gauge drop and not recover if it was just movement of gas in the tank away from the sensor.

That happens to me too and I get ~25mpg.

As far as the problem goes, i agree with DieMaster, coolant kills o2 sensors. Possibly check into that.

Have you checked your timing?

I know is sounds strange, but overly retarded timeing can cause EGT's to go through the roof causing O2 sensor failure.

Had it happen on a friends car.

I tossed out all my O2 sensors that were dead except for one. Ill post a pic of that one when I get home tonight. Sorry for the delay in responces Ive been in limited dial up at home since I moved and cant get on the internet too much due to a 20 hour a month limit.

I was thinking about antifreeze screwing it up but then again if my gasket failed then wouldnt there be white or grey smoke coming from my exhaust system?

If your headgasket failed, yes there would be smoke. It would also smell.

Thats what I thought. There is no real smell other than gas, because it is running so rich it seems.
