Default Need help quick

Can I use a trans from an 89 STD onto my 91 HF? I know its a 4 speed, blah blah blah, but I am in a pinch. Thanks.

as long as they are both D series motors they can be swapped

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure, because I know there are some differences between the older years, something about the 88 trans or something.
