Connecting Ipod to 04 Accord.
I was wondering if there was an auxiliary input in the stock accord 04' in the back to hook up my iPod to.
Theres a cd/auxillary button which lead me to think there was an auxiliary input in the back somewhere?

you do not have an aux input, there's couple of way you can go
cd changer port connector: 100bucks+-
tape adapter: 30bucks not the best quality of sound
fm modulator(not transmitter) 30 bucks, work with any car with antenna

fm modulators are a nice way to go.. u can just pick it up and carry it along with u next to any stereo and bump your tunes without having to carry around wires. also, no installation required. but.. whats the diff between fm "modulator" and "transmitter"?

i picked up the AirPlay which is supposed to be better than the iTrip but it doesnt really sound that good. Is there a cable that allows me to hook it up to the rca jacks or the cd changer port? i have a pioneer hu and I know theres a blue port in the back that im not using. thanks.
There only couple way you can do it
1)FM TRANSMITTER
itrip, monster cable iplay, airplay are all FM transmitter.
in general, they suck pretty bad, i had them before(itrip, belkin) same shitty sound quality.
You might get away with it if you live in some little tiny town but you are not getting a damn thing for bigger city like socal, nyc.
that's speaking from personal experieces, don't waste money like i did.
BY THE WAY, DID I MENTION FM transmitter will F_CK up your ipod screen?
yes, there's alot of ipod getting a "burn in" on the screen from using itrip.
2)FM MODULATOR
they are totally different from FM Transmitter, they runs about the same price 30-50. FM modulator connects to your antenna port.
IPOD---------FM MODULATOR----------RADIO
I am using a FM modualtor from D. Navonne.com(spelling might be off).
it's more expensive but it has some extra feature, there's a switch you can turn on to switch off all the radio station, so when you using your ipod(or whatever you manage to hook up with a RCA cable) none of the station will interfer your "boardcast".
another feature of the D. Navonne unit is a signal gain dial, it's use to tune out the "pop" when there's too much bass in the input.
it needs to be install, but it's easy, one ground, one 12v switch on and you are set.
most of the cheaper fm modualtor doesnt have that.
it's not perfect, but it's not costly at all. i would rate it some where around 96-99percent cd quality. the main problem with this is there's a current noise, it's not noticeable if you have the car running but yeah, it's there.
3)AUX IN cdplayer
SOME aftermarket have that, but again, that's another 100-150 dollar there.
4)CD CHANGER port plug in
Most accord stereo have a cd changer interface port, which you can buy a cable and use it as an aux in source.
it's very good quality sound but the downside is the cost 80-120
5)MINI
buy the new mini! they have a interface built in already, too bad i still have the payment until 2008

Lots of good info. I have a pioneer headunit and was wondering which would produce better sound quality:
CD-RB10 with a rca to stereo adapter

or this interface Pioneer CD-IB100:

Thanks.
