My 1991 Civic Si making a rattling/ringing sound.
About 2 weeks ago while driving on the highway to events I've noticed a constant ringing/rattling sound coming from right underneath the dash. It doesn't do it while at idle or when I rev the gas pedal, but only while in gear and driving.
About a month ago my car started grinding going from 1st to 2nd at autocross events. Can this ringing/rattling be coming from the tranny? Anyone know any problems like this?

possible release bearing? see if sound is detectable at idle with clutch in then out
