Default clicking and oil in cylinder?

ok well I just bought an accord with an H22a that is about brand new(only 2000 miles) The block was completely redone but on my way home I was on the highway and when I pulled off I heard a loud clicking, so I was only about 1 mile from home so as soon as I got home I pulled the spark plugs to run a comp test and what do you know one of the spark plugs is covered in oil.
Now what is the problem, I am going to pull the head off this week and take a look but what are my possibilities, at first I was thinking bent valve but now with the oil in the cylinder, I am not thinking so.

thanks
JR

Collapsed piston, broken piston ring or ring land.
Either case, welcome to the wonder whacky world of Internet H22 purchases.

nope this wasn't an H22 from the net and the rings, pistons, crank(just balanced) and all interenals were replaced 2000 miles ago

it could be that one of your lifters is broken. And the reason why there is oil in your cylinder is probably because the head gasket could be broken and therefore it leaks in. but most likely the clicking noise is from one of the lifters.

anyone one else have any ideas, I will pull the valve cover off and inspect the head tomorrow, I am also going to run a compression test on that cylinder to see how bad it is.

thanks for all the help quite stressed being that I am VERY tight on cash and this is my daily driver.

Maybe the valve cover spark plug tube seals are bad? While you have the valve cover off you can check valve cleareances and see if there really is a bent valve.

how do I check for a bent valve? no its not the spark plug seals, the oil came from inside the cylinder, the spark plug tube was clean.

If not swapped in, then from where???? H22's don't grow in Accords, you know.
Prior owner, most likely. A pertinant question would be why he got rid of the car after doing the "grail" of all engine swaps???

actually I know the guy, he is a good friend of mine and will be here tomorrow to help me out. The reason for sale was he did the swap on a credit card, ya ya not smart. Well bills came due and he couldn't come up with the cash, so he sold it to me for the price of his bills. With that debt he wouldn't be able to register for classes(going to college with him), so he was in a bit of a bind.

Yes he did redo the block(I have all the reciepts) and the old parts.

Also the motor came from a good shop in my area, so I trust them, the interals were install by a professional and all done to specs, with my friend watching over all of it.

Also went over the head again, the clicking is coming from the clyinder closest to the cam gears(always forget which number it is) the engine still moves smoothly(I can rotate it using just a socket on the crank bolt. Sounds like it maybe a bent valve, but how would that leak oil into the cylcinder?

thanks
JR

Hopes this clears somethings up.

the first thing you should have done was do a wet compression test. that would have told you if the rings were faulty. second off you could have done a cylinder leak down test and and listen to the exhausear if the air was leaking by the exhaust valves. but now just inspect the valves visually.

ok I know soemthing is wrong. A comp test wouldn't work if a valve is screwed up, so I don't see how a comp test is going to show me if the ring is any good?

thanks

if you add a teaspoon of oil to the cylinder it will raise the compression temperarly in the cylinder.
