Engine Code P420: Catylist System below Threshold
1998 Accord EX. Completely Stock. I bought the car in Texas and when I brought it back to Denver the CEL came on the next day. The engine code is a P420. I know that the cat has an 8 year/80,000 mile warranty. How can I tell if it is the cat or the O2 sensor. The light comes on and then it goes out, but it always comes back on. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

It won't be covered under warranty if it is abad O2 though.

The only way the O2 sensor goes bad is if the cat. fails. Like said before take to the dealer and have the cat and O2 sensor replaced under warranty.
You have a bad catalytic converter on your car. Good luck convincing the honda manager to replace it for free. Use ONLY factory cat. How many miles is on the car?
The car only has 66k on it, and the dealer told me that the cat has an 80k/8 year warranty on it. They will replace it for free.
