My brother drove my 1990 Honda CRX DX back home and back over the weekend, a total trip of about, 230 miles.
When he got back he said the car drove great, he said he was able to just let the steering wheel go and the car would remain going straight.

but,
he said that my clutch was about to go, the give of the pedal and the shifting wasnt as good as it should be.
This doesnt surprise me, it is a 15 year old car.

So, i just need to know how much it will cost to repair/replace the clutch. im just asking for material costs, thanks!

 

Do it yourself buy a clutch kit for around $100 rent a hoist for around $25 oil for 2 quarts at $5 each and tools and you and your brother can drop the tranny and put it on in half a day max. The hoist is optional.

 

around here for oem aftermarket replace ment is around 250

Hoist? Get your brother to help out. They aren't all too heavy.

Get an OEM replacement online or @ Pepboys... (i'd say online and get the Exedy, but if u need it bad... )

Some oil to fill the tranny. (or Honda MTF if ur cool like me)

And get the flywheel resurfaced @ a place like Napa or a local machine shop.
