Changing Filter ? ?
Ok I know its gonna be open season on my rear axle . BUT , is it fairly easy to change the autotrans fluid ? Is there just a kit I can get ? Or do I have to get a filter , a seal ? What are the specifics required to pull this one off ? Also does anyone know anything about adjusting the Valvetrain on a d16y8 EX VTEC .
automatice tramission fluids are easy to change ...
easier then manual fluids ...
I read the fluids change in haynes a few times .. and i finish the job within 30mins .. it is very easy ....
the autotrans have no filter .. no seal ....
first ..
raise the car ...
unbolt the nut with a 3/8 square on it ..
let it drain out ...
screw the nut back in .. 36 lb/ft if you have a torque wrench .. if not .. just make sure it is tight ...
put new fluids using a funnel into the transmission through the dipstick (transmission's dip stick)
slowly move through P to D2 .. and check fluids level again ... and you are done ..

Damn the autos have no filters? ? ? ? ? ? ? . Well thanks anyways . The valve train question is , every 30 thousand your suppose to adjust the valves . How do I go about doing that . I guess the valves are suppose to be adjusted on that mile interval . What kinda tools do I need and how long does it usually take . (Trying to get an idea of if its gonna be a all day long thing) . Also what would be a good type of ATF to use ? I know its an auto , ((wishing for manual)) but I deal with it LOL
