Default Overheat and blown head gasket, how far to go....

Just bought a 92 DX, 170k miles, which was overheated, and supposedly blew a head gasket. Pulled it apart last night, sure enough the head gasket around #2 was disinigrated.

After cleaning it up I don't see any other damage. I intend on having the head milled, but should I put rings into it? valve job? bearings???

I have heard d engines drink oil and smoke after a good overheating (rings). If I'm there, why not do bearings.. and, and... I really don't want to put a ton of money into this car, its a cheap beater, but on the other hand I dont want a smoker and have to pull the engine apart again.

1. Just do the head gasket or go through the engine?
2. Where to go for gaskets and parts? Honda, Felpro?

Thanks.

My D15 didn't smoke after a blown head gasket, after the surgery it was fine.

I'd replace rings and bearings if I were you... that stuff is pretty cheap, might as well do it.

cheap if you know how to do it, and dont forget about the machine work and the down time of your car due to a blown head gasket..
