it can be done, make sure you use a flat black, i've seen it done with a glossy black and it doesn't look as good

On DSM they take the amber reflector out of the corner lens by seperating the lens. The way they do this is to boil some water and then dip the lens into it, which then softens the glue that holds the lens together, making it easy to seperate. This is only something I have read online but I imagine it would work for our cars the same. Good luck!

The best way I have heard of doing it is putting the headlights in an oven for 10 minutes at a low temp. The low temperature will loosen up the glue but not melt your headlights. Im cant recall what the temperature is tho'. Once the glue has melted you can pry open the headlights and take out or cover the reflector with a silver mirror tape. Then reseal your headlights. Ill try to find the exact directions.

tell...

edit: the above directions are for opening your headlights and clearing the orange reflector. you can use this method to open the headlights.

I had to break open mine due to condensation. I also cleared my friend's '98 headlamps. It's easy. POP IT IN THE OVEN for like 10min or so. It's way faster than a blowdryer/heat gun/etc

I don't feel like finding the link right now, but there is some pretty good directions over on S2Ki.com
A lot of the S2 owners have done this and documented it very nicely.

i have a pretty good picture in my head of how to do it.
i found a site where this guy put them on his older m3 with directions.
and this other guy put them onto his gti.
but havent seen it done to japanese cars yet.

when you are resealing it make sure you do a good job because over time the inside of the housing will get dull if its not sealed right.
