Nitrous... WOT switch, Msd digital window switch, or Button?? what u think??
ok im about to install my nitrous kit and all my accessories soon, i got a ZEX kit with remote bottle opener, purge, bottle warmer with pressure transducer, which keeps it from going over 1100 psi.., a/f guage and pressure guage on bottle and a autometer one.. now im wondering if i should use the button, a msd digital swtich, or the WOT method.. anyone have any suggestions? thank you
ummm.. since you got a zex kit, doesn't it come with a control module thing that only lets it spray at WOT as it is??

that gas pedal thing right?
that gas pedal thing right?
window switch is were its at for a number of reasons.
the first being safety. you can set it not activate lower than 2k or so and that keeps your girlfriend from going "whats this button for?" and spraying at idle or something dumb like that.
also you can set the highend limit to keep from letting the juice over rev your engine
the other methods arent quite as secure.
you can also get very acurate and consistant results

i assume you are doing some drag racing. set the window switch activation point to 1500 rpms and run it at a track, and the go up in 500 rpm intervals until you find the best formula for netting a good 60 foot time. you would not have enough control to conduct this experiment with the other methods.
personally i would run the window switch inline with the wot switch.
good luck

thanks yea im ogign to run a wot swithc which is already in the zex unit, and a window switch and a overall power switch that just turns everything on or off

setting the activation point at 1500rpm is pointless..... i would hope you would launch at a higher rpm then 1500 or you'll get the worst 60ft time ever...... launching the S takes skill and to properly launch it you're launching at around 7k...

the zex kit comes with a seperate control box unit.... which monitors your air/fuel mixture and such and it will not spray unless you have the right air/fuel mixture and you're at WOT

i ran the car at teh track ran a 13.8@100 with a 2.0 60, i kinda bogged off hte launch, but only got one run in that night cuz it was busy as hell
i meant to say 2500 rpms
also that z3x a/f ratio thing is a joke. i've seen some detonation even with it.
this was on a narrow band 02.
does the s2000 have a wideband?

^ i guess you didn't read all of my post ......
i mentioned.... "launching the S takes skill and to properly launch it you're launching at around 7k" so there is no reason to set the window switch to 2000rpm......

do you know how much nitrous he is spraying?
i dont see it anywhere
lets say its a 150 shot and hes spraying out of the hole.
he might want to launch a little differently if he had a 30 shot
i dont know the magic formula, and i dont know how he drives so i suggest a trial and error approach that anyone can pull off
even if i said launch at 1000 rpms the end result would be the same. he would try different rpm levels gradually increasing until he got it where he wanted.
