Default 88 Civic Tails Lights

I don't really like the red light that goes across the back of my civic. When I get my civic painted I might paint over it and replace my tail lights. The only light kits that I can find for an 88 though include that middle piece. Can I get something like this for my civic?

I want something like that kinda style with no middle piece. Anyone know any good lights?

Dude do you self a favor, paint the centerpiece that same color as your car, spray your tails with some Krylon candy red stain glass paint, and call it a day.

you can look on ebay. I bought some pretty tight carbon fiber lights for only 72.99. they look more black then red, also they light up pretty good at night. The middle piece is carbon fiber look. I like em

I think I'll paint the middle piece the body color (which will be a dark gray) and get something like this and just not install the middle part. Ebay does have some good stuff.

i could see tinting those taillights dark red and then clearcoat on top and painting the center piece black, or body match lookin good for the more blingin type people

I have those lights on my car. Yes I know their euros. rice, blah blah blah. That was my only option at the time. Anyways, I just painted my stock center piece the same color as the car. Doesn't look bad. I plan on probably spraying some stain red on them. Let me see if I can get a picture.

I painted the entire rear lights dark red, besides the rear lights that need to be seen. Basically it just covered up the amber orange on the sides of the lights.
I used krylon stained glass paint in red. I bought it from Joann Fabrics I think....

not a bad photo. I went ahead and kept the black center part from my std and just refreshed the "CIVIC" logo in reflective white in the center when I repainted it. Looks really nice and OEM

Looks good. I think I'm going the same way, but my color will be darker.
