Default blox gsr intake mani worth having for turbo setup?

I have a brand new blox Gsr Intake manifold sitting in my garage that i bought when i was gonna go all motor.. before i open it up is this manifold worth having for a turbo setup or would i be better off selling it since its still in the box and putting the money toward my setup and keeping the stock gsr mani for now and getting a different manifold down the road?

if we are talking about the intake manifold, id say keep it. its pretty much bang for the buck. my friend has it on his gsr and it works out pretty well.

What are your plans? From the vast amount of reading I have done in the archives I would say it will help, but I don't know that it will be all that big of a difference. I was going to remove my stock GSR manifold in favor of the Skunk2/Blox manifold but after reading about it in several old posts I decided it is probably wiser to use that money for fuel/engine management/tuning. Just my 2 cents.

well i'm in the process of piecing together a kit and i could use the money. If the blox intake mani wasnt really all that much better then stock i would sell it in favor of something else i *need* for the kit.

I'm intending to run somewhere between 5-7psi for a daily driven JDM b18c1 on stock internals

projected set up thus far:
spoolin performance manifold/downpipe/dumptube/IC Piping
JRC 8" intercooler
RC550cc injectors
walbro 255pH
Tial 38mm wastegate
Tial Bov
Complete oil feed/return kit from fast-turbo.com
GE Vacuum Manifold
ARP headstuds
J&S ultrasafeguard
Koyo radiator (half sized)
tuning using CROME or uberdata

Havent totally decided on the turbo, still researching it but im leaning toward the gt32e turbo.

Honestly I don't think you would see much of an improvement. I could be wrong, but I think it would be minimal gain. Our setups look like they will be very similar. I am 99.9% sure I will be using the GT3251E. I'm going for 300whp which will probably require 10 to 12 psi. So I plan on going with RC650cc and the AEM EMS for engine management. Do you have any power goals? Do you think you'll turn up the boost later?

i would like to turn up the boost later after i can build the bottom end but for now on stock internals my HP goals are low, 230-300 would be fine. I figured for autocrossing and just general daily driving the fast spool up of the gt32 would probably make it a good choice.

From what I have read, 300 whp stock is possible and can last a long time, with PROPER tuning. I may, at some point in the future, feel the car isn't fast enough. At that point I'll turn up the boost and go until it blows up. Then I'll rebuild it stronger/better.

i had 332whp/225tq ( dynapack ) and never had a problem. it's the torque, not the HP that will kill the motor. you can have 600whp as long as you don't go over about 225-230whp again, dynapack. i had my car tuned at Church Automotive. he sets his dyno at "0" as opposed to "1" or "1" as opposed to "2".. i forget which.. anyway, it makes the hp/tq numbers closer to what a dynojet would read. he explained to me the torque puts the load on the motor and causes it to break. this would make sense since HP is a byproduct of torque.
cliffnotes: don't go over 230tq. or maybe 225 to be safe. whatever whp number you get is irrelevant. i can guarantee once you feel 300+whp you wont' want to go back. it's addicting.
with my current project i'm shooting for as close to 500whp as possible. one day you're stoked to have 300. the next you want 500. it never ends LOL

I agree that torque and not hp is what kills the engine. Unfortunately a lot of people get fixed on whp not torque. If you walk up to someone and say, yeah my car puts out 250 lb/ft of torque, most likely their response will be WTF?
