Default I t-boned a car and walked away(kinda)

Last saturday i went for a ride with my brother, i have a 02 F4i he has a 02 ducati 748. We were riding on a 3 lane major street here in sunny southern california when some young kid decides he wants to pull into a Fed-x from the middle lane and im in the right lane and t-boned him at 40mph. i got tooken away in a ambulance but no road rash or broken bones, just banged up a bit(back pains, neck, shoulder etc.). police report says i was doing the speed limit and he was at fault for turning into a drive way from the middle lane. my bike has $5800 in damage, im out of work for a month for now depends on how soon i can recover. i have full coverage insurance i know he has insurance but not sure what kind. i got a lawyer so maybe i can recover lost wages and my bike.
i will keep you guys up dated .

oh i had sold my hatch back the day before so i have no car....the car i t-boned was a hatchback.

wow, congradulations on not getting hurt too badly. My friend just T-boned a car a few days ago. He ran through a yellow, and the car jumped a green. He's got a compound fracture in his arm, and glass in his face. He's pretty messed up. Hope you recover well.

Sorry to hear, best of luck with your recovery. Thats pretty crazy that you sold your hatch the day before and then the car you hit was a hatch

glad to hear you are going to be okay... could have been much worse. Something is not adding up... you were both going the same way right? were you in his blind spot? how far away was he from you when he decided to ruin your day?

good luck recovering! just for karma reasons, you may want to think about buying another hatch to prevent any more unfortunate happenings.

A coworker of mine just went through the exact same thing. Without a lawyer she was paid double her medical expense and compensated all her lost wages. When she went to a lawyer(friend) they told her to demand double the medical expenses since that is the standard payout if you take it to court. So she got what she probably would of got in court but without the lawyer fee. Granted none of her injuries were serious or permanent. If you have any permanent injuries/disability then the $$ you get could skyrocket.

I cant see how this happened. I mean if your friend ran a yellow, theres no way the other car was fast enough to run in front of him.

BTW which fed ex was this at? Glad you're ok.

Same thing happened to me too. guy in the middle lane cuts me off to make a right into a side street. I go over his hood and when everything stops, my bike is on top of me. people walking by lift the bike off me. I was able to limp away without having to go to the hospital, just tweaked my shoulder and hip a little bit where my bike was.

i let the guy off easy. his insurance totalled my bike and paid me off with $500.00. guy didn't even say he was sorry. i was too nice. next time though...
