Default !new exhaust system question...!

ok, i have a 90 crx si and i need to know of the best way to get a nice new system..

headers - ebay buy now for 24 / ship for 48 =headers home for 72 bucks or so. so then i have some chrome dc style 4-2-1 headers. then cat/ or no cat? greddy style high flow cat ebay buy now 29 / ship for 20 50 bucks at home. then the next one is what to put after the cat?

i'd like to put dual exhaust on it so the only thing that will work is a 5zigen 3d fireball ebay buy now for 129 / ship for 65 =home for 195

headers = $75
cat = $50
the rest = 285

all = 410 bucks

so what pipes are in between the axel back muffler and the cat?

or cat back same thing for 285 bucks.

what the hell shoud i do, and what would be the best way to do it?

thx

well... definitely run a cat. And if you have a welder/welding connections you can always go with a kteller.com kit. Otherwise your plan sounds good.

I wouldn't buy any of the parts you are looking at. The only header on ebay worth getting IMO is the Megan header, which for the B series run about $160, the D series probably around $125. Get a real exhaust made, Magnaflow is great. from the catback.

If you build an ebay exhaust, using the cheapest parts, I'm sure it will sound like ****.

I ran a < 20 dollar used Chikara header before I went turbo connected to a 2.25 ID cat bought from Summit connected to an OBX exhaust. Sounded fine.

The reason I say that about the headers is because I've had several customers bring in the ceramic painted ones and chrome headers bought off ebay, most of them ended up peeling shortly after (ceramic). And about 70% of the people down here use obx, ractive etc. mufflers w/ no cats and they all sound like crap. It's probably due to the no cat part of it, but its just been my observance.

Yea.. keep a cat for mother nature and sound purposes. I think custom kits sound the best but only if you have the ability to put it together urself. And if you don't have the ability... its a great time to learn.

im using a megan header, about 125. i wouldnt go with a 25 header. atleast with obx or megan you can trust the welds.

ill also be going with a obx hi flow cat and possibly a obx catback in the mean time till i get the turbo on.
