Default DA integra upgrades for an EF

im trying to see if it is worth it to buyu a whole 90-91 integra, wrecked or whatever, to throw parts onto a hatch, which no, i havent bought yet either. im just planning... i miss my b18b EF, and im moving back to the H. i know i can use the front/rear disc and engine/trans obviously. how about the master cylinder and brake booster? radiator? ive searched but i only find people doing these things but i cant really seem to find why they are doing them. thanks kids.

the master cylinder and booster will work too.

if you use the master cylinder, you need to use the booster too.

if the teg has abs, you have to rebend one brake line.

changing MC doesnt change braking performance, just pedal feel.

i cant think of anything from a DA worth putting onto an EF except the engine.

a lot of the suspension swaps out, but cant say its of any benefit either.

Depending on the deal you get for the DA I would definately do it.

You can use the following items:

Radiator: Which is almost 100% identical to that of an EF but I think it's as thick as an EG radiator except in a Full Core setting. Bigger Radiator means more cooling which your motor will love.

Brakes: You can use the front and rear brakes which is 100% beneficial no matter what no ones says. Bigger brakes means more stopping power plus you will have disc on the rear which is more beneficial and easier to change then the pain in the butt drum setup.

MC/Booster/Prop Valve: You can use the MC which I think is a 1' instead of the EF which I think is 13/16. Bigger MC flows more brake fluid making pedal feel nicer. If you want to use the MC you need to swap the booster also. Lastly, if you are going to put on the front and rear brakes you must definately upgrade the Prop valve which DA's have a 40/40 one which will even out the flow and braking of your four corner disc's. If you don't your MC will take a shyt and your brakes will lock. Plus, if you have the parts might as well do it.

Dash: You can swap over the dash also with minal modification. It's a nicer looking dash plus it has the center console. If you don't want to swap over the dash you can just swap over the center console with some modification. Your interior will look fuller and if I remenber correctly DA center's have cup holders .

Steering Wheel: The DA wheel is also nicer then the EF one but depends if you mind having a steering wheel that says Acura in the middle.

Seats: You can also swap the seats over - you will have to play around with the rails I think or just swap the seat pans. I don't know which EF you have but the DA seats are much nicer then the HF,DX ones. They are more fuller, bigger, and have the nicer looking headrest. Now if you have an SI then I would just keep your seats in and the DA ones' as a spare set.

Motor: You can also swap over the motor especially if you prefer the DOHC. You will need mounts and axles and obviously you should know that from previously owning a DOHC swapped EF.

Don't forget you will also have a spare set of rims/tires. Which can always be beneficial if you were to get a flat, (knock on wood) excetera.

Obviously, these are just my opinions but depending on what you pay for the DA it's worth it or not.

Good Day,
RH.

both da swaybars will fit on our cars, but for the back one you need the brackets(and lower ctrl arms) from an si or you have to make them yourself. also, the da rear sway doesn't flare out as much, which is better for handling, but it has a tendency to rattle against the muffler.

AWESOME POST

The only thing I would change is DAs without ABS had 15/16 master cylinders and ABS cars had 1inch.

Who ever said the brake line has to be bent to use a Teg master...... I think you are wrong. Mine bolted right up, first the 15/16 then the ABS one, to my 89 HF. I have seen other years of masters that have the one fitting on the opposite side of the master. I didn't even reflare my line for the ABS, I made an adaptor from a metric hydraulic fitting and some cutting on my lathe.

I am running an OEM Honda rad which bolted right in and was dual core and had B series sized hoses. I was told it was a JDM SIR but it could be a DA unit.

The last DA I saw in the junk yard had a wiring harness that looked a lot like a CRX harness. These cars would probably make great donors for MPFI swaps.

The steering rack from a DA is power and is supposed to be a quicker ratio than a CRX or Civic. It is supposed to bolt right in except that it is power. I have one here I intend to install once I get some time.
