car wont start, no cranking, no nothing what could it be?
ok this has happened a couple of times now. today i got of of work drove about 7 min to wal-mart, car started right up. drove freeway/country roads for about 25 min, got to my gf house. chilled for about 30 min. went to start car and it wouldn't.
no CEL, i can hear the fuel pump prime and the relay click. i also just replace the starter about 3 month ago. what could it be? starter or main relay or something else? the only thing i can think of is it happens when the motor has just been ran for 20+ and then the inside of the cabin was warm when i went to start it which makes me lean towards main relay. but one other time when it did this i smacked the starter and it started right up, coincidence?

ok ill check em buy y will it start when its cold but it won't when its hot? how could this be related to the battery terminals? im not saying your wrong, im just wondering.
i just went to my gf's were the car was. its been about 6 hours, so its now dark outside (cabin is cold) and the engine bay has cooled down. started up first try. the thing is its not a problem solved. i know it will do it again as so as i drive it and turn it off and don't give it a few hours to cool down. what could it be?

There we go!, finally joined this website which i like alot. Anyways my mom had the exact same prob with her uber clean 89 hatch dx 5 spd, my bud and me figured it out and it was the clutch sensor, you know a safety hazard to put in your clutch before you start the car. Well you can try to disconnect it i guess or cut it like i did in half at some decent point, this caused the car to not even light up the gauges or nothing!. Also the battery fuse under the hood to the left was burnt out 4 some reason too, eh its's replaced.
so your moms car wouldn't start when it was hot? and so you cut the wire to the clutch sensor and that solved it? i doubt any fuse it blown because if a fuse was blown it would just not work period, mine works sometime and not others. please respond to me and be decriptive cause you only get 5 private message a day since your a noob.
my ebrake, seatbelt, and battery light all light up so maybe this is different. oh ya and my yellow engine light come on for a second like it is supposed to

Im trying to SAY, there was Nothing when she tryed to start her car when the clutch sensor went out "duh" so we cut it in half, where it was located. I never said anything about a freakin main relay being bad, if you hear your's then it's fine OK. Also if the battery fuse is blown im sure it would still start, but check that anyways.
Hers still started a couple times before we found out the fuse WAS blown ok.

can you explain? i don't mean like really hot. its just the green house effect thats all. if i leave the windows up when its sunny it gets hot in the cabin.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Contender25 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Im trying to SAY, there was Nothing when she tryed to start her car when the clutch sensor went out "duh" so we cut it in half, where it was located. my friend had a hb with a clogged up converter and if would run fine for about 20 minutes then would die.But it sounds like you need to check your grounds and battery starter etc. When my relay went bad it would crank but wouldnt fire.
check ur pgm fi main relay i would recommend replacing it because this causes the car to crank but no fire even it main relay works, it may not work at certain temp due to crack welds

the car doesn't even crank
i have i feeling it might have to do with the clutch sensor that tells it that the clutch is disengauged. how do i check this?
