Default Drivetrain noise while turning, B16A with S4C

I have some clicking noise that seems to only happen when I am turning+pushing on the gas.

The sharper the turn and the more gas, the louder it gets for both directions. Any other time I don't hear it.

Anyone got a clue what it might be? I already tried replacing the axles.

No LSD..

Putting the wheels off the ground and spinning them doesn't seem to make it click.

What would the LSD have to do with it? Reason I ask is that i have an LSD and I hear clicking when I turn, but only when the car has been sitting for a bit. I haven't tried changing my axles yet though.

Youe motor mounts might be shot or loose. Usually the helper mounts.

Seriously? Ball joints and motor mounts would cause my symptoms?

Can the differential cause this?

I have the same thing when i turn from a stand still i hear a clicking sound.

I have replaced my axles not onec but twice, cause i thought they sold me bad axles.
so its not an axle problem.

intrest to see what it could be?

he asked about if you had an lsd because it sounds like a likey case your lsd was goin out if you had one cuz the idiot that had my teg before i bought it had one of those punk *** phantom grips put in and i changed my engine mounts, both axles and intermediate shaft before pulling my tranny and finding a phantom grip in there. So i actually went online to one of those car places and tried to find out who had my car before me(I was going to cure him out) no luck. After a case of beers i decided to get a jdm type-r lsd. Sorry for the long story you brought up bad memories

my friend had this same problem he thought that it was his axles to but it ended up just being the ball joints.

Last I checked I wasn't able to wiggle my wheel on the camber axis. They seemed pretty tight, so I'm not sure that it's a ball joint issue.

Yea a phantom grip blew up my poor Y21 transmission.. :`-(
I assume phantom grip will go out of business soon because they blew up all the b-series transmissions ever made.

You mean the splines? The only threads are on the outboard joint to wheel hub, and they look fine.

yea the splines inner and outer points on the axles a guy at a tranny shop said hes seen **** like that where there worn down and and it starts skipping they thought thats what was wrong wit mine at first but it turned out to be that phantom grip. Since you have new axles try checking the splines in the hub and intermediate shaft. Did it seem pretty easy and loose when u put in the new axles and when you here the noise do you feel it also? Im just shooting in the dark on this stuff but i know how you feel. I drove around wit that noise for 6 monthes as it got worse and worse til i had to do something. It would be kinda funny if whoever had your car before you put in a phantom grip then that would be your prob. If you find the prob let us know

Check to make sure that the lug nuts are tight. I had a similer problem, but would happen during low-speed braking.

I'll check the lugnuts. The splines fit snug for both the differential and the intermediate shaft.

Thanks for all your ideas!

Could a bad intermediate shaft cause this noise while turning during acceleration? It happens to me when I'm going straight as well, only during acceleration.

I, too, changed both axles, checked wheel bearings for play (none), checked tie rod ends (no excessive play)... I'm lost at this point.

Not trying to thread-jack. Just seeing if this might be applicable to your problem too.
