Default Emissions Help-92 STA. WGN.

HELP!
Failed emissions on CO and HC @ higher RPM. List of things I've done:
-R/R plugs (NGK)
-R/R plug wires
-Removed and cleaned throttle body
-R/R air filter
-R/R PCV valve
-R/R O2 sensor
-checked MAP sensor-OK
-checked EGR valve and assoc. sys.-OK(OEM EGR valve R/R two years ago)

This is going to sound stupid, but I have been getting code for EGR system but have been passing on NO for past 3 years. Could this cause engine to run rich like it is? Is this an indication of a rich-running engine?

Also, this is an EX with Federal emissions and only one O2 sensor.
Was ready to change Cat. Conv. but having second thoughts. It runs OK, not like it's plugged up or rattling around.

Also, would doing the intake runner unplug-and-clean help? Is it pain to do?

Your readings will help determine what needs to be fixed/replaced.

Good news. I changed the cat' and that did the trick. Sorry it's been so long getting back to you; kind of hectic lately.

I will continue to read this board. While I'm not a tunner this board seems to have a wealth of info. for us stock-riding types.

Thanks for your time.

Is there a way to clean them out without drilling into the plugs on the top of the intake manifold?

nope that is how honda designed the manifold, you either drill through the plugs or remove the plugs and use their little kit with new plugs. i personally drill and tap and tehn put small bolts in.
