the search is down so i couldnt get anything. im getting my car back today and tuning it tommarow. pushing for 250 ft. lbs. how long will my axles last? they are right now in good condition. what kind of axles are you guys using?
depends on your driving style. If you beat on the car a lot they won't last you too long. I have seen 600hp go with stock axles. I'm sure your ride height affects them too, if you are really low that will put stress on them.
I found the axles don't hold up to drag race starts to long. So I just don't do it. So now I have no problems with breaking axles. Should last as long as normal
I've been running stock axles on my b16 turbo setup for 2yrs now. 400hp+ & 310tq.
I just bought some Gator high perfomance axles to go with my new turbo setup. Mainly for piece of mind.

With my old hatch I never had a problem with the stock axles...Horsepower levels were anywhere from 250-300 whp and 220-260 ft/lbs..Probably close to 150 runs on slicks and street slicks, never street tires.....I was worried a little at first as you are, but like everyone else is saying, dont sweat it..
i pre load with the E brake,
when it light the first yellow bulb on the tree, i pull the ebrake all the way up, then i let the clutch out a little, and put some tension on the suspension, enough to trigger the next light. then i keep the clucth about a 1/4 of the way out, bring the rpms up to my 2 step number, and after a little practice you will find that "sweet spot" where you can hold the clutch and use the gas, when the lights drop, i let go of the e brake, and peg it!
also, i took my ebrake, and ground all the teeth off of it except for the last 2, so that it just drops by itself when i let go, but i can still lock it up on the last 2 teeth, if i need to park it!
consistent 1. 6 60fts, never broke an axle yet, and its a mid 11 second car.
also my MSD is hooked to my clutch pedal(neutral safety switch), for engagement/disengagement

i run stock axles for 4 years now... i ran numerous of times at the track, did some hard 1-2, 2-3 shifts on the street... still good, and yea autozone/pepboys lifetime warranty rocks it..
