Default how much boost for b16a?

i just bought a crx with a jdm b16a engine in it. Im running a greddy td05 turbo. My top end isnt built yet on my motor, so what would be a safe boost to run till i get a new top end.

Well I have a boosted hatch but I don't boost more then 7psi. I heard you can boost 9psi but that pushing it and if you get boost spike and boost more even greater chance of blowing up.

Go to forced induction...there is a reason for that forum...plus people there tell you 12psi...that is way too much for stock pistons and cr.....

no its not. IF TUNED you could run a max of 15-17psi external and ported internal WG 12psi non ported internal WG on a b16, you need to go to FI forum and read up some.

too much cr?? the more cr you have the more fuel delivery and ignition tuning you have to do.

you could run 12-15psi tuned on a 11.1 c/r motor with 770cc injectors, 255lph timing pulled on 94 Sunoco but why would you want to do that? it wont blow either you'll just use alot of fuel.

example:
if you had rods and pistons and had 12-15 psi you wouldnt need anything bigger than 450s and 190lph on stock ecu program. for the price of 770s and 255lph you could get low comp pistons, dsm 450s and 190lph and be on your way.

you say your top end isnt built but is your bottom end. i would worry more about that than the top end. and you could probably go around 10 with a good tune safely.

b16a top end is good enough get some gsr or itr cams and itr valvetrain for more top end instead of the 7700rpm power drop on the stock cams and you should be straight.

might i add there are people running 12 psi tuned on stock block/head sohc vtec greddy 18g(tdo5s)

Tuning is key, that being said if your using the Greddy e-manage you may want to stay around 8psi. It tends to run lean up top. If you have a program like hondata or uber then 10-12 psi is safe daily. It also depends on how healthy your motor is, injector size, Fuel pump, timing, etc...
