If you don't **** with any of the settings (leave all the hi and low throttle settings at zero) the car will run off of the factory ecu settings. Do not attempt to tune it yourself unless you have a dyno and a wideband. You can get it tuned for about 89.99 or at least that is what we charge for an hour of dyno tuning. Where are you located?

I never thought I would quote this kid and agree, just playin Archidictus, your a smart guy, an *** at times but still smart to bet. A knowledgable tuner can slightly tune a VAFC (with engine mods obviously) with a wide-band air/fuel guage. But only slightly, the only tru way is to put it on a dyno.
I guess we know that avatar is truthful...

Your ride setup quite the same as mine(d16y8 stock ecu)
I insatll VAFC1 about 3 month now. cos I lookin for FI my d16y8 in the near future.
However Im still NA, after seacrhing HT many times most of HT members suggest not to change a setting with out dyno.
But the feeling of owning VAFC make me iching and do the chage such as VTEC engagement point, lean some point of Lvt. etc. with out dyno (street tunning)
I can say that the stock set up is more fun for daily city ride. On the other word more Zaaaaaaddd
You might need to try yourself to understand that but do some searching to make sure atleast you have basic knowledge of Air/Fuel mixture for combustion.
and know how to initail VAFC back to the default.
hint: first you might try to lower VTEC X down to 4500 rpm (mine d16y8 stock VTEC default @ 5700) and you will know @stock default or acouple hunderd rpm lower make more...... Zaaaaaad than 4500
Correct me if Im worng
