Prolly not much longer. Sure everything seems fine, but it isn't. You will notice the clutch slipping a lot earlier then it is suppost too. I did this thinking nothing would happen. It's only a street car. But then having your clutch slip 50 xxxkm or so down the road kinda sucks. You will be back under the car in no time if you just bet the **** out of it, without giving it a good chance to break in.

I waited about 500 too. You can never play it too safe. The track will always be there, save it for another time.

lets say i dont drop the clutch take off like normal and then red line the gears does that affect the clutch, because someone told me it does but i dont see how it could if you dont even really need to use the clutch once you are out of first gear

It puts force on the clutch to slip, because the clutch is transfering the power to the tranny.

Just start driving now, you can get 300 miles on the car in ~4 hours, then meet them at the track.

You should not be hard on the clutch at all for 500 miles....period

Unless you want to go to the track and run at 75% throttle and babying the clutch??

jack the front of the car up, put a brick on the pedal so it runs steady @ 100 mph, you'll be done in 2 hours. Grab a beer and watch.

that is the dumbest thin i have heard in this thread. any way you cant just get on the highway and put 500 miles on it. it needs to be a lot of stop and go driving. changing gears and using the clutch. 500 highway miles doesnt do anything because the clutch is already locked in and not being used.

Exactly^^^ The life of the clutch is reduced greatly, because it will glaze over from overheating. the only way you can take it to the track, rev match everything....you'd have to be pretty effin good at that

Here is my only question to the original thread starter.

Will you be able to go the track next week or is this a once in a lifetime happening?

whoa another 3 months and your straight O.G.

And is it just me or do all the posters who are telling you to beat on it are the same ones that have lots of messed up grammer and use lots of profanity

My feeling is if you can't wait 500 miles to go rcing your motor will most likely be gone befoe the clutch is anyway so have at it
