Project 88 build up.
It's light I know. I've had 3 eg hatches and this is my first crx. A friend gave it to me a while back when I needed a car. So I owe it to him and myself to bring it back from the dead (just small fender/hood bumper benders and a dead motor 299k+ on the clock so give me a break). I plan on a full restore back to semi original state + rear disk + suspension + swap. I have had both b16 and b18c1 in my hatches but never in a crx. I figure around 3500 budget for engine all said and done.
The car will be setup for long road trips / street (if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I'm thinking CB radios cooler / sleeping bag / camping gear Tie down nets longer gears, good lighting, good seats (basic gsr maybe) maybe navigation of some sort.
So pretty much a car that can go on a long road trip and hit some pretty sick back roads.
Pics of the car in its current state to follow. Wish me luck.

Good luck
a car with that many miles under it's belt usually is difficult to restore.
like mine 88 hf with 265K - rusting is more of a prob on these cars vs the 92 and newer Hondas.
You'll also find the 88 is kinda the ONE OFF year, finding some replacement parts for it (like my driver's side window) can be a test of patience.
Time, MONEY and patience is the recipe, if you want to get it done completely.

Yeah I see tons of rusted out CRXs out there I got pretty lucky this one is actually rust free.
As far as the one off goes, It seems to me like some one did that just to **** me off. Everything looks like its the same until you try, and then FAUK

Check the West Coast (Vegas/Phoenix/Tucson)... I have found several carcasses of 88 hatch and CRX in the junkyards that have good useable non-rusted parts for WAY cheap, all you gotta do is pull em and paint em!
My 88 Hatch is coming along quicker than most said it would simply due to the fact I have found alot of 88 parts in the Phoenix area for way cheap that I just cram in the back hatch and drive it home.
The best part is... PasswordJDM has a nice EF9 SiR front end conversion a buddy put on his 88 'rex and it looks great. All you have to do is update the t-bar on the radiator support and pop it all on.
