RTA bushings need advice (searched)
I am doing my rear trailing arm bushings right now, I got the center pin out but the rest of the stupid bushing is still in there and its killing me. I've searched and I found,...................fire (i started to get light headed, and my neighbor threatened to call police), utility knife, hacksaw blade (**** that), chisel, dremel with cutting bit, air drill with cutting bit. But yeah so far nothing is going very well. Any input would be awsome, I know its gunna take some time and work but nothing seems to be doing any damage to the rubber haha. HELP!
Don't know if you have access to a press...Get a piece of 1/4" angle iron and place it over the sleeve. It will come out easily. Your neighbor is wack.
ok I got a thinner heavier duty saw, a carpet knife kinda looks like a hook, some titanium coated utility blades, and some long straight blades and a wire wheel for the grinder, HOPEFULLY something will work
for all that money you spent on that **** you could have quickly removed them, taken it to a shop with a press and had them swapped in and been done long ago.
damn.
damn.
i havent done it myself, but if i were to do it, id knock out the whole bushing shell out from the trailing arm first. just use a hammer (a big one). try to jack off as much rubber as you can. then id just torch the rubber off. yeah, itll flame and burn. then bang the shell back in place and replace with your new bushings i assume youre trying to accomplish.
