Default Help with Race CRX

Have put together a CRX si to run in SCCA production racing and had a strange engine problem after re-installing my very thrifted main and engine harnesses..... now only have the basic engine functions left on the harness...

Car starts and idles great and will run fine at half to full throttle but when running up to 17% throttle (measured via Greddy) runs super lean and surges really badly, this cannot be fixed by the Greddy as have tried to add more fuel but makes no difference....

After checking the TPS and MAP all measure up as fine.

Did manage to get a band aid solution by fixing the throttle pot at 50% and all now runs great (car runs open loop all the time as no ego) AFR look good but am really baffled by what might have caused this....

Any thoughts?

thanks

no airleaks, timing is +6 degrees as running on 110 race gas.
