what's your budget and goal for your car... that's the first question you gotta ask yourself.

Looking at the above post.. those guys sounds just mean...even knowing that you're a n00b on this site... All they could say was "leave"? WTF...

I have an EP3 and I started out with I/H/E.. But If I had a chance to do it all over, I'd start out with wheels and suspension.. and ofcourse gotta have suspension 1st, then the wheels...

i agree, what dicks.

but any ways, i would look at some suspension mods, lower your car a bit and it will handle like a go kart, and besides, bad power-weight ratio is bad so once you have suspension down with some nice tires (potenza :D) you can do simple things like i/h/e but if you were wanting to turbocharge your car or something like that later on then just fix your exhaust, because your going to have to get a new i/h with the turbo kit

plus put in an LSD and a hondata ecu, you will be good to go

i don't own an ep3, but i do know that the tires honda puts on its cars usually suck. so, in that case, i'd grab some new rubber/wheels, then suspension, then go from there.

it'd be nice to know what your budget is though... it's usually a huge factor with modding cars... well, at least for me it is.

sometimes i find it pretty daunting to see someone who has the same car as me, for the same amount of time, but with like 10x as many mods.

Go with suspension first if you can. I suggest some nice coilovers or Mugen. In Colorado at least, a header will give you more power with a custom mid pipe and stock axle back than if you buy a bolt on. Not that many cars were tested to get this figure from the dyno, so if I'm wrong, sorry. If you are broke and are just itching for a mod, get an intake. If you are going to go FI, think long and hard about what you are going to do with the car before you buy. I have the Greddy turbo kit, and it's a great street kit. The turbo spools fast but has good top end still. But, I don't dominate at the drag strip or the autocross course. Too fast for a noob at autox and too slow for a really fast 1/4 mile. You want more power, go Cybernation, less go JRSC. Hondata K-pro is a must have for any K series owner.

first off don't buy anything for your car. the best thing to do is take your car auto x'ing. see what kinds of times you get during the event. learn how your car reacts to certain situations. have some of the more experianced guys drive your car while your in the passenger seat. see what techniques he/she uses. ask for tips, see what times they get. if they beat your best time by a wide margin then your goal should be to practice with the stock suspension till you mastered it. then move to aftermarket suspension. you should learn how to drive what you got. you'll grow into a better driver. i say start off auto x'ing because if you road race it, you might end up crashing your car if you don't know what your doing. it's best/safe to learn on a auto x course. i'm a grip racer but auto x'ers make better road racers not the other way around. (my 2 cents)

Good advice. If you are going to autox, DO NOT GET A TURBO right away. You need to have 10 autox's under your belt first. I, unfortunately, did all kinds of **** to my car planning on just making a street/strip racer. Then, I tried autox and was hooked, only it's really friggin hard since my car is too heavily prepared to learn on, easily. I even took a one day class, and all the instructors said my main problem is learning to manage the turbo, so it won't mess me up on turns and slaloms. I only suggested suspension cause I hated the stock stuff. Nice coilovers would help you put power to the ground in 1st gear too.

im planning to get the new 06 ep3(whatever the new chassis is going to be called) and im probably going to leave mine stock. 200 hp and LSD is enough for me. riding on 350/450 and it's friggin stiff. i am done riding around on a rock.

who knows what it'll have... it may not have LSD and if it does it'll probably cost more than most of us would want to pay for a CIVIC.
