mis-shifted
is a mis-shift covered under warranty? friend mis-shifted 2001 base from 3rd to 4th and hit way past 8000.... now his valves are knocking like crazy, and his check engine light is on... might be valve float...
I've seen plenty of Honda dealers fix cars from missing a shift and causing the cylinders to be cracked, valves to float/bend, etc..
I think it really depends on the dealer.. we have cool ones here that "understand" and they will fix just about anything under warranty..
Toyota is harder on their customers when it comes to that sort of thing, and my friend mis-shifted his 2000 Celica GTS 6 speed, 3rd to 2nd... did all sorts of nasty damage... they fixed it and they told him the next time they won't fix it under warranty.. so many Honda will do something like that.

No, its not covererd if your friend acts like a ***** wrinkle. Tell him to learn how to drive.
I agree. If they do fix it make sure he learns how to drive because the second time around it will not be as easy. I know a guy going through the same thing right now with a 2001 Accord but with the tranny. I think he has a lemon tranny though or the dealer never fixed it right the first time.
