Could somebody tell me if a 1991 CRX Si just has two 6.5" speakers in the doors, or are there another pair in the back? I will hopefully be purchasing one tomorrow, and I was looking at replacement speakers and how many I would need to buy. I searched but couldn't find any info on this topic.

 

2 6.5 in the front, 2 6.5 in the rear (you can get 6x9's in the rear but it is tight)

 

mine in my 91 rex are 5 1/4 front and back..

 

I have all 6.5's in my CRX. (2 front 2 rear)

 

that the same with a 91 civic?? i only see 2 speakers in the front, but for the size

 

well, what's labeled as 6.5 is usually actually smaller, that's why some people measured and have said 5.25. almost all 6.5's will fit in, and if they don't you can trim the plastic that they sit in.

for bjorn20, yes, same for the front. do you have a sedan or hb? if i remember right (its been a while since i've done the speakers on a sedan) they have the same size in the back as the front. hatch's sometimes have speakers in the back, the speaker pods were a dealer installed option.

 

factory size is 5 1/4 all around but 6 1/2s will fit in the back only the holes wont line up (make new ones with self tappers) as for the front 6 1/2s will fit too you just have to cut the splash guard behind the speaker if the magnet is real big

do you have 6x9's in the back of a crx?
did you have to mod anything?
can you please show me pics?
