I have an 89 crx hf. and when i try to start it nothing happens. I looked at all the fuses, starter, I think it could be the main relay but I cant locate it. What should I also check to fix the problem and my chiltons sucks. Thanks alot

 

To check main relay you do not need to locate it. Just turn the key on and you should hear the fuel pump prime up. Get in the car and close the door when it is quiet outside around the car. Listen carefully. If the fuel pump primes then you do not need to replace the main relay.

Does the vehicle try to crank over, or is there just dead silence when you try to turn her on?

Do the dash lights come on? (battery light....etc...)

 

no it doesnt try to crank over just dead silence. all the lights come on

 

go hit your starter with a hammer

 

I checked for voltage at the starter solnoid with the ignition in the start position and I don't have anything. I was able to push start my CRX though. Does anyone know where the starter relay is located at?

 

your power wire goes strait the batt if your not getting voltage your starter is bunk

 

i have my volts from my battery to the starter but nothing from the iginition to the starter. anyone knows where the starter relay is.

 

starter relay is near the hood release

1gef-8 thanks it was the starter relay that was the problemI just put a cable to bypass the relay intill tomorrow when i can pick on up. hopefully honda doesnt rape me.
