Default 3rd Gen Options

I know an 89 Lxi isn't the sexiest of beasts, but are there any motor swapping optiuons or should I scrap this project and move to something newer? I just want decent power and something that doesn't look too bad. Not a monster.

you can swap a B or an H into it but it will have to be totally fabricated, no companies producing much of anything for this platform. Though i did love my 3rd gen when I had her

what fabrication would be involved?? obviously an existing engine and tranny would be involved, are you talking custom axles?? what about ECU??

ECU is a straight swap, The harness is part of the swap. Basically you couldn't use anything related to the old engine. What I meant by fabrication, I was speaking in reference to the bay itself and the motor mounts.

well motor mounts aren't that big of a headache.......what do you suggest then??? i am totally new to the honda thing......ive wrenched on old skool fords and chevy's all my life....have no clue what im diving into, but i definately have seen the outcomes and i think it would be sick for this particular car.

hasport makes a kit for putting a B series into that car (either a b16 from a civic Si/SIR/Type R) or a b18 (various varities of integras)...ive heard good and bad things about it.....personally, the nicest looking accord ever made was the 3rd gen hatchbacks...

the way hondas work, you can basically take the complete drivetrain out of an of the FF 4 cyls, and put it into any other FF 4cyl honda...the only things that may need to change are axles and motor mounts.....

Did not know that they made anything for the 3rd gen And if you like the 3rd gen hatch, you'd love the 3rd gen Aerodeck
