I am goin to fix all my problems and just get the whole damn thing rewired. There is just so many things messing up one after another. someone told me that he heard that honda would rewire my car for, i think 300 bucks, so if anyone can please help me out and let me know if honda does this and how much it would be or any other place for my 89 si b16a crx.

 

$300 quote from Honda to rewire your entire car??? i think not. especially since you have a motor in there that didn't originally come in the car in america. and when you say "rewire", what exactly do you mean? the engine harness, body harness, dash harness, or all three or just two of the three? and you probably won't need to rewire the whole car, just fix the places that are hacked up or add in what you might need for vtec or knock sensor or anything else you have or would possibly need. my brother and I specialize in wiring and we have never had to completely rewire an entire car.

 

Used chassis and engine harnesses are usually around 125-150 for both. I can't imagine any one installing both for only $300.

 

yeah, what i would do is look for an si or an hf that was totaled, buy the car for a hundred dollars or something, and switch the wires around. if you want to keep your gauge cluster, make it an 88-89, or repin that part. also, the easiest time to wire for a swap is if the complete harness is out of the car, so you can run the wires through the same bundle.

ok, i am just sick of all the wiring problems i have been having. My turn signals quite working and i put a new fuse in and it was fine for days and then they completely quite all together, then some cluster lights quite, gas tank pump wires quite and then wires behind the cd player quit and smoked. See what i mean. Something shorted out and i have no idea what. But i just think it is the dash harness. I do have another crx that is an 88, should i take it out and replace mine with it. Is it hard. Pics and detailed steps would help me if possible. please help.
