Default lip of rim scuffed from tire mounting

I have Konig Helium Silver rims. When i bought them they came mounted w/ the tires I orded & it was done flawlessly. No scuffs or anything.

Well i bought new tires now & took them to get mounted to a place by where I live that is known to do a good job at not scuffing the rims. I was wrong.

Two of the rims are fine. But two got some scuff marks about 1/2-inch long on the lip. Basically it ruffed it up & scratched off the paint.

So what do I use to cover these scuff marks up? Can i buy a certin touch up paint for rims somewhere or would Konig sell a touch up paint for my rims? Or can i just use touch up paint made for car paint? Or is it just best to leave it alone?

Thanks!

None of the above. Unless your friend hooked you up with a good deal or something you need to march back in that place and RAISE HELL!!

Heliums are nice wheels. Don't take this one lying down dude......

A little late on the reply but i agree with mahatma... your rims weren't scratched when you took them there and they should pay for the damages! Unless of course you got some sort of HUGE discount (or free mounting) in which case, talk to them about it but dont raise complete hell.

Just outta sheer, morbid curiosity... you gotta pic of the damages? I wanna see how bad they fucked your rims.

no i got no discount. i thought lots of the time rims got scuffed when new tires were mounted? its not like their huge, but u can see them once ur within about 10 feet of the car if ur looking for them. i honestly doubt this place will pay anything for the damage. wont they just say its my responsibality to know that damage can occur while mounting tires & its not their fault?

sorry no pics cuz my digital camera is broken.

Of course it's best to catch right off the bat. By now they may legitimately be able to say they're not responsible by virtue of you driving around on them for some time.

You've got nothing to lose by asking them.......

As a general rule I always get on the same page with anyone doing anything to my car/parts, establish all the damage already present, and then you can agree that if anything turns out f'd up, it's on them. Any reputable place will give you that guarantee.

If that doesn't work, I say leave the scuffs and don't try to paint them
