Tried every possible configuration? Does that mean, you have replaced the fuel filter yet? I'm just trying to get as many details as possible. The more the better we can help you out.

We have tried every possible config of washers on the brand new fuel filter trying to stop the gas leak. The new fuel filter is cheap stock 91 crxdx OEM. Still it is leaking from the out side of the fuel filter at the top of the out bolt, and not cranking properly.

Also the spark plugs are not getting wet.

CAR91CRXDX--->MOTOR93D16Z6
using a 91CRXDX fuel filter.

I can give more details.

thx ...peace.

Start with fixin the fuel leak if possible. So the car will run for a sec, then die? Any codes? Ryan

PS, how bad is the fuel leak?

well if you get the filter fixed, try looking for your main relay...that kept my rex from starting for a while. its like an $80 part from honda, but at auto zone or some place like that its like 50 bucks

ok we got the fuel leak taken care of. Now it will turn over with the starter and that is it.
I gotta find a diagnostic to check the codes. I don't guess there is anything to do until then.
Also when we changed from DP to MPFI there are tubes that we weren't sure about so we just stuck them where they seemed to fit. Ther is a little 4V pump of somekind on the firewall above the fuel filter and a few inches right that isn't hooked up at all on the MPFI. I can't find a diagram of any kind to say what it is, and there aren't any fittings to attach it to.

We are currently stuck with no ideas except for renting a diag tester from autozone and get codes.

I will update later tonight. thx peace.

the diag tester wont do u ant good, touch the orange and blue wire together... thats how you check for codes.

You check for codes by leaving the wires un touched... if the light stays on, you have a code, and thats when you join the wires... the code will flash in the dash.

um, for a noobie at work.. how tuff is it to change the main pos relay to one that will actually start on hot weather?? cause id much rather get the parts for it and do it myself rather than have shops touch my car plus the gay labor fees

OK we rechecked the timing and it was 2 teeth off and we tryed turning the timing belt assembly reverse one rotation to tighten it up with no luck. It is still cranking and turning over for less than 3 seconds. All the gas leaks are taken care off but we still smell gas from somewhere. Spark plugs are firing but still do not see gas on the tips.

so you read the codes off the ECU by counting the flashes? could someone explain that one more time.

thx. peace.

EDIT: The ecu is throwning no codes, and only one spark plug is getting fuel.

DP.

2 new questions*about the D16Z6 intake manifold and fuel rail.

*The hose on the intake next to the MAP sensor. What does it connect to?
I have this hose going to the cylinder pump looking thing on the passenger side firewall.

*The hose on the driver side of the fuel rail. What does it connect to?
I have it running into the driverside firewall about 10 inches toward the fender from the spedometer cable maybe less than.

thx for all the help so far.peace

Only one spark plug is getting fuel and I am still puzzled. I can let the car sit for 20 min and it will run for 2 seconds. Could it be a vacuum hose? Thanks in advance

the relay is kinda hard to get to. you have to get under the dash and then if youre laying down on your back its going to be on the right side close to the little cubby thing. its not too hard to find and replace.

I am sure he appreciates your help, but that's not a very good suggestion on how to replace a main relay.

The Main Relay in under the drivers side interior kick panel. Remove your coin box and you can see it. It should say Mitsuba on it if it's the original Honda Relay. I don't know if this is necessarily your problem though, since you are getting fuel.

Either way here is a good link for Main Relay replacement and fix:
