question for those who have done obd0-1
since last year i have had a z6 motor in my civic. i have also had the msd sci and an external coil in my car as well. here is my question - has anyone had any electrical problems with there car after doing any kind of motor swap and obd conversion???? i have an optima yellow top deep cycle battery in my car (the one that is for the honda's) and i am on my third one. possibly going on my fourth one. something is killing this battery and i don't know what it is. i have just replaced the alternator within the last couple months. all the wires are hooked up right. everything works like it should from what i can tell. all the grounds are good. every once in a while when the battery starts to go bad (from passed experience with the other two batteries) the cd player will randomly shut off and turn back on (i have had two different cd players in there, so it's not the cd player), and once in a while the headlights will go dim for a sec or get brighter for a sec when i step on the brakes. but nothing is consistent with these problems, and they only happen when the battery is not running efficiently. today it felt like it was starving for fuel sometimes too, and i have a full tank of gas, so it's not low. i will trouble shoot the fuel tomorrow after i check my battery. just wondering if anyone has had anything wierd going on after a swap or obd conversion, or if this has absolutely nothing to do with this. i just find it really odd that i am possibly going on my fourth optima battery in a year and a half. each one seems to get me 3-4 months at most. any thoughts?
thanks for any input

the alt is not properly charging the system, so the car is running more off the battery then it should be.
i had the same problem on my b16 i bought a duralast from autozone
should have went oem, but i brought it back and the replaced it, since i had thier little warranty on it.
it was fine after that.
do you ever find the car dead in the morning?

i plan on testing both at work today. i tested the new alternator before i even put it into my car. could it be possible that it just has something to do with the optima battery? anyone ever hear that the yellow top can not be charged by the alternator? someone mentioned that the other day to me and i thought that was really odd, since it is an automotive deep cycle battery. maybe the alternator is overworking to try to charge the battery and can't? perhaps i will try changing it back to a regular automotive battery if it tests bad.
