Wire Tucking Concerns
The whole wire tucking is a great idea. I would like to try it myself. But I have some concerns. When is a good time to start doing this? Because i would imagine that if you had problems with the engine later on, the shops ( the ones that rip people off ) would have a hard time trying to diagnost it? I been search for threads on wire tucking on HT but i came to ones where the pictures are down? Anyone like to link me some threads on wire tucking? That be great.
we'll basically, I painted the engine bay and it looks like this. Exactly. Champion white, The only thing different from this picture and mines is that the engine isn't put in yet and u can see all the engine harness and wires. But besides those, they look identical. So how do i do wire tuckings!!!!!!!!!

where exactly does is the HUGE THICK Engine harness goes to? Everything else i understand but can't seem to understand how to hide the HUGE THICK engine harness wires?
i wonder if the clutch cable could go under the intake manifold and come back up to the tranny? has anyone tried this before? does it effect the clutch pedal in any way?

Doesn't effect the clutch as long as you don't have severe angles.

Mine is under the IM.
The large wire harness can be pulled into the footwell through the big *** hole that ur AC lines would go through. You need to extend maybe 2 lines. And of course most of the Vacuum crap from the charcoal canister can be eliminated. I just have one vac going to the map sensor which is also in the foot well... here is a pic...

Almost daily for close to 2 years I think?
but I dont mind, I try to help the best I can.
As far as you clutch cable you can run it under the motor, I have been doing this for years and I also do it on customer swaps so it works.
I wished I would have made a right up when I did it for all the PMS I get about it, I should have made on for all the cars I have done, EK, CD, EF, DC and so on.
Its really not hard and every car is different you just got to get in there and do it but if you have any specific question like the clutch cable was I can help you out, there is numerous ways to do this so its up to you.

if the setup becomes too complicated... might just go going to replace all the black wire looms with white ones. Should match with the color on the bay
Don't cop out and wrap with white wire loom... it will look cheap and gte dirty really fast.
Are you running AC? The hole I was talking about is right by the charcoal canister by the passenger shock tower. Also are you going to replace the suspension? Looks funny w/ painted strut mounts.

Seriously, listen to this man. He helped me with my bushing install, so I went to the shop to press them out....I came back no more than 90 minutes later and my bay was cleeeeaaaan! Props to the OG wire tuck master.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Good luck.

i tackled the wire tuck when i was doin my motor swap. i extended a decent amount of wires for the turn signals, lights and so on. most of the wires got tucked under the intake manifold. only thing i didnt hide was the clutch cable. but im putting anotehr motor in on the weekend so ill take care of that while im at it. and maybe spray the engine bay also.

If I did I would never have time to wire bays cause I would be with myself and maybe another girl in a locked up room
