The weight of my knob(shift knob that is).
I've got a ? that's bugging the hell outta me. I've got a 2K1 Gs-R w/skunk2 short shifter. Everybody told me to get the shift **** also because A) it looks good and B) the weight of it will help in shift engagement. My question is if weight=good shift, y would a company like Spoon(products r better than sex) sell a light weight titanium ****? Does weight really matter or is it more like the motion of the shift?

I have a spoon shift ****, the one made of duracon. It's very light and the only reason I can think of why Spoon would make such a lightweight **** is driver preference.
I've since realized that a heaver shift **** (even the stock Integra shift ****) makes the shift easier and smoother. As for weight savings, it's miniscule and a few oz's saved vs. shift effort isnt worth it.
Then again, it says 'SPOON'. I guess name recognition also plays a role.

it comes down to a leverage issue, a larger amount of weight on the end of a lever will help move move something at a lower point.
The job gets done either way.

the stock shift **** shifts the best for me, mostly cuz it goes further down the shift lever and creates more leverage which alows you to use less force to shift..i think it looks like *** tho so i replaced it the itr one which works almost as good
A friend of mine had a light weight **** and always complained about having to yank his **** into gear. It may have been his short shifter, but he actually ended up snapping the damn thing in half. I also think name recognition has somethin to do w/it. But if J-Lo got really fat would u still tap it jus to say u did?
