DC Rear Hatch Removal
Me and my friend wanted trade our hatches because I want spoiler less and he wanted a spoiler, are there any write ups for this? We looked at the hatches the other day and couldn't figure out how to get it off. Anyone have any experience please chime in.
TIA

Agree, I was going to do the same thing and trade with a friend and I had half my car apart, headliner, back panels and the wire is a pain to unhook.. So I just bought a LS hatch and when I repaint the car, I'll put it on..
So good luck, if you can unhook the wire/plug your good to go..

Sweet, now before I take off that rubber piece then play with the hinges should I take off the plastic cover first and d/c all the wiring and harnesses? Now after I get that rubber piece off I can just pull out the whole hatch from there? Also how do I d/c the hydraulics? Do I just use a ratchet? Also is the rubber piece easy to get back on?

i just cut the wires and am going to soder them(sp?)but you may be better to poull off the plastic and unbolt all the wires, depends what u prefer.
yea pull the rubber piece off, just work it out of there. then unbolt 2 bolts on each side and lift the hatch up, you will have to yank on it to get it loose.
there are little clips at the bottom of the hydros, pop them off with a screwdriver or something and pull it out. you do not need to remove the hydros from the hatches.
the rubber piece isnt too hard, just work it back in.
