VIR (May 6-8) - going?
VIR (May 6-8). Any other HTers going?
I'm getting pretty excited about this weekend. It will be my first SCCA race, actually two races, at a completely unfamiliar track. I'm hoping to learn the course on Thursday... 4.3 miles and lots of twisties.
It's a double points event for two different racing series. Practice day (separate event) Thursday, with Friday qualifying for both races on Saturday and Sunday.

No HPDE. However, this should be a spectacular spectator event with almost 400 race cars entered and eight different race groups on both Saturday and Sunday. We'll be running the 4.2mi Grand Course.

Tickets are $20/weekend and can be purchased at the front gate. The first race each day should be starting at about 9:00am.

Thanks guys. I may take you up on that... hopefully I'll just need a hand bleeding the brakes. My crew will not be down until Saturday.
I'm almost as excited about the condition of my tow vehicle... should be a much smoother and quieter ride now.

We had to scratch this one off the schedule. I started plugging numbers into my budget spreadsheet and it exploded when I entered $275 for gas. 4 nights in a hotel room didn't help much.
We're doing the Enduro at Daytona this weekend instead. Cost is nearly 1/3 the trip to VIR for us.
We'd rather be on the Grand Course, but sometimes practicality rears its ugly head.
Next year... We're there. Maybe.

Nah.
I'm far more interested in good CRX video of the Grand Course. I've already seen plenty of video of you wrecking.

Hey here's something completely stupid, you know how you wish someone "good luck", but for stage performers this is actually bad luck so they wish them "break a-leg"? What do you wish racer dudes?... I can only assume that the phrase good luck would not be appropriate since we are in a sense performing on a stage.
"bust a' nut"
"waist a tire"
Whatever the phrase... have fun in Daytona Scott.
This is probably something a little more useful:

We always say "Have Fun."
"Good Luck" seems unapplicable and "Be Careful" is just all wrong.
Restaurant suggestion for VIR - Tres Magais (I just murdered that speeling). Its the Mexican restaurant on the main road through town. Located at the bottom of the hill from the big comfort inn.
Its pretty darned good.

I'll be there in B. First race in B trim at a track I've never been. Sounds like loads of fun. Scott, wish you could be there. You an Renee have fun in Daytona. BTW, I saw the Fines at the Dyno this evening getting ready for Daytona.

I'm on a personal mission to get Blake to drive that car at the ARRC this year.

i'm coming. in fact the car will be there 1st thing this morning.
unfortunatly, we are in cost situation too. while we weren't planning on Daytona (woulda been nice) we were planning on Kershaw later this month... until the truck blew a plug, and now needs a $5000 engine transplant!
it's easier to borrow a vehicle for a 1 hour ride, than a out of state trip.
anyway, looking forward to a large ITC contingent! stop by and say hello. we should be paddocked next to a pair of Spridgets.. look for the British Flag.
hoop
#4 or is it 14 this weekend?
