Default CRX 1/4 mile time just in

so at englishtown this weekend i got my one run in and thats it. but now since im writing this i cant find my timeslip so i will look around for it to further comment on it. but i have a 91 crx si with full interior sitting on 14in steelies, and the motor is untuned with a crappy chipped pr3, so bad, vtec opens at 4000. anyways i have a jdm b16 block with a fully built gsr head. i ran a 15.1. kinda slow i think but then again you never know.
also the car is for sale, also has jdm front, and the motor is for sale too. contact me if interested... bdangeresbo@aol.com

it all depends on ur set-up really..i got a 91 b16hatch,, i make mine kick in at 6,000..cuz stock is like 4;800 i think..and there was a huge dip when the vtec lobes switched over..we noticed above over 6,000 is when this beast really wakes up..when vtec kicks over man u feel that sheet!!for ur set-up those times are not good at all..i dont wanna flame but its either due to poor drivin or u just dont got what u say u do

i can beat that in my stock b16a. why would you get rid of the pr3 head anywho? you need to do it the other way and have a gsr block with b16 head.

last year i was at englishtown with my full interior 91 CRX SI

i had a B16 then with just a few minor hop ups. I/H/E made around 145hp on the dyno.

I made consistant 15.2 pulls all day long. my fastest was a 14.9 and i couldn't back it up. my 60s were 2.2s or so on 15" rotas w/ falken azenis tires.

I'd say your doing pretty good.

i/h/e is intake, header, exhaust.

Yeah I would have done gsr block with b16 head because the B16 head flows better from what people tell me, and you get more torque out of the gsr. Yeah but it's your car your decision...do get it tuned though, and a different intake manifold, if you are still using the stock one.

i wouldnt say that its that slow, some cars arent good at the track. maybe its your tires maybe its your shifting. or maybe its all the cars got. i have a friend that has a 91 hatch with a b16 swap and he beats 13 second cars on the streets but only runs 14.9's at the track, and this kid can seriously drive. The track is different, practice makes perfect at the track. keep at it

maybe he gets nervous on the track and has bad r/t and shifts slower then what he would on the street? or could be track conditions

for me, when im just cruising down the road with nothing to do for the next day, i can shift fast as hell without missing gears. when i raced a jeep, i shifted slower cause i was nervous, but still didnt miss a gear. i sometimes still let off the clutch too fast on a stop light up hill when i got 10 cars behind me and my car dies. since ive only been driving a manual for like a month

Yeah driving at the track is alot different from what people tell me. Conditions are mostly crap, and you tend to get wheelspin alot.

The gsr head lowered your compression.

driving at the track is different, it takes me about 3 solid passes to get used to it again. conditions are not always bad, depends on the track, sticky, weather etc.

no i know my time was bad and all but im just confused, i think its my ecu, even when i had the stock b16 motor with just gsr cams my car wasnt that fast. i raced my friend who has a first gen b16 in his 93 si hatch n he beats me left n right cept on the highway i dip on him. i dont know im just confused, im not a bad driver, thats all my motor has right now it seems like, even with others driving it, im still looking for my timeslip, i may have thrown it out already. i had a .5 reaction time with like a 2.xx 60.

You dont want to feel vtec come on, it should be a smooth transition...

Using a Gsr head raises compression!
