Default Whoa, huge help needed with e-test

17 and about ot buy my first car.
basically, i have ultra-low salary, but i need a car that zooms. for the last three months i was speculating 92-95 civic 3 door with a b18 motor swap....total price (no taxes included) 3000-4000 but i ran into a brick wall today.
Canada requires cars to pass an E-test every 2 years, the civic will NOT pass it with a B18 unless i find solutions.

anyone have any input at all?

Ive been reading theese forums for a little while but i just set up an account.
if anyone can help me, its you guys.

well, the emissions tests are vehicle specific therefore, the civic will have to pass the test with the standards as if it had a D15 still in it.

the b18 will pass fine for an integra, but as they are looking for it to be a D-series, the emissions released by the B18 will surpass that allowed by a D15 by a big margin

well here in the us it goes by the engine not the car but you have to specify what year, make and model the engine is.

if they dont do that there, i would say rig up 2 cats to lower the emissions output but cant say that it will work

Emissions equipment doesn't vary a whole lot from engine to engine as long as you don't have to deal with an EGR (which you don't as far as I know).

If you can get a checklist of the things you're required to meet we can help you on a step-by-step basis but, as most of us are stupid Americans, we don't know what you have to do to make it happen .

the site for the program: http://www.driveclean.com ; is giving me nothing. the site looks as if it's made for three-year-olds....still looking...

cannot post more then 5 so im editing this one, civics:
A: last forever
B: easily swapped
C: parts are all-too-accessible and cheap
D: insurance will go easy on me
E: looks innofencive stock (great sleepers)
F: i like the over-all appeal
G: got any better ideas?

EDIT AGAIN:
yea i was thinking of cali, but canada is my place for now and this ontario e-test thing is fairly new (couple-o-years

IF SOME1 IS READING THIS PLEASE BUMP IT FOR ME :S

If you want a car that "zooms" on a budget, why are you looking for a Civic?

hehe i used to live in Canada, so cold and boring so i moved to california, perfect place for having a lowered honda, no potholes, snow or salt and abundant of parts and shops, all we have here is a smog test....and if u know a couple of ppl, it's all good....i remember how hard it was to find good hookups in canadia....
but i never heard of that test thing in canada? as far as i remembered there was no such test for your car equivalent to the smog here in cali..
