Default '92 Civic Dx Hatch-What's it worth?

116k miles, stick, hatch, no options other than A/C. No rust. Also--nice sized dent in the front right fender and no muffler.

What do you think it's worth?

I guess it all depends on where you live and who's selling it. I managed to buy a 92 cx off the first owner...extremely clean...for $1300. I hear about people paying anywhere from $1500-3000 for a hatchie. You can always try lowballin and say you're a desparate college student in need of transportation.

Well here's the deal. This dealer wants $2500 for it, and edmunds shows it being worth anywhere from $1k-1700. I offered him $1300 for it and he goes "I think $2500 is as low as we can go." He says this after last week telling me to "make an offer." I guess they're waiting for some kid to come along and overpay for it. I'd probably pay up to $1600 for it.

If this is a dealership then... for dealerships...Be patient and check out autotrader, or keep your eyes open for "for sale" signs. There is no reason why anyone should pay over $2k for a hatchie. Honda or not the thing is 13 years old.

Go to the dealer with cash and whip it out and say if you want this you will sell me the car.

$1600 is a good deal. Actually if it's a dent in the fender I'd start at $1600 and go to 2k if the rest is clean.

Haha yeah as soon as I get a little ca$h infusion I'll probably do that. It's a Mazda dealer too--you'd think they would be nicer to a Miata owner!
