Default Can you BEND the Stock SHIFTER? or Stabalizer shift Bar?

I think the stabalizer shift bar under my Teg were somehow bent... and my stock shifter goes WAY to far DOWN and TO THE LEFT.

probebly #14 in this pic:

OR are you able to Bend the stock Shifter?

So, if i take it out, put it in the vise and apply pressure to the 2nd "bend" (1st bend being toward the shift ****) will it bend? or will it just break?

Thanks all
i know you'll all say, "just goto a junk yard and get new connections rods" but there is not 1 Teg in ANY junk yard even remotly close to me

Thanks

Ditto, you won't know exactly how to bend it back into shape without another to look at anyway, I'd imagine.

Just buy another, they're practically free and easy as hell to take off a junked Teg (or any Honda).

OR

Search the classifieds. You can usually find one for cheap.

gotcha... well instaead of hurring up and just buying another part (which i dont even know what part is bent) what would actually be plausable to do? Bend the Stabilizer bar of the Shifter bar at one of the bends?

Examine both closely - it's more likely you bent the actual shifter and not the stabilizer rod, but with a close look you could probably narrow it down.

I hear of shifters breaking, not bending, but you never know... Did you do this or did you buy it like this?

i bought it like this... it's a '97 GSR which i bought Used from 1 Owner 3 years ago... i noticed then that the shifter was sitting off to the left when in N a little bit but never really gave it any thought. But i know now that something screwed up and i want to fix it.

the Stabalizer bar and the shifter bar under the car are all old and rusty so i can't really even tell if theres something wrong with them or not.... as far as the Shifter, i dont see any other Bends or Kinks other then the 2 stock bends....

What do you sugguest?

Thanks again!

Any chance the previous owner installed a short shifter?

i thought about that... no idea who the previous owner was (i bought her at CarMax)... but from the looks of the shifter, i can only assume that it's Stock.

Maybe if they DID install a Shortshifter and Reinstalled the Stock shifter before they sold it... could they have put a washer or something in wrong to make it lean?

the shifter is nice and tight all the way around though...

hmm thoughts?
