Why would you do this?? Are you autocrossing?? Other than that i don't think you will have much luck passing safety inspection.

The reserve capacitor for the airbags will still be powered up even after you dissconnect the battery. Just to be safe I usually give it 30 minutes to discharge. Make sure you wear some type of gloves when you are removign teh actual airbag module.....static can actually set off the squib. Some latex (fisting) gloves should work just fine. As long as you are careful you shouldn't have any problems.

that would be a waste of an airbag... you could sell it and make some bank if someone really needs it...

damn i wish i had no safety inspections. I would disconnect battery and wait like 10-15 minutes. And as far as puncturing it, i would not just because you can resale the air bags for a good price.

Turn off your car and disconnect bothe battery terminals. Let the car sit for about 5 minutes with the battery disconnected. Then remove the yellow connectors from bothe airbags and replace it withe the red one. Then remove and unhook the LED for the SRS light. If you want you can also go under the dash and reomove the SRS computer as well.

There should be 4 bolts to the dash and the 4 bolts to the bracket attached to it. They are pretty hard to get at w/o taking the dash out. Ghetto rig some wrenches together and you should be able to get at the last one.
