Sohc v-tec power?
I just got a 95' civic ex sedan, it has the sohc v-tec engine in it, I have put good $$ into it replacing everything that I find reason to since I first got it 11,000 miles ago. It runs like a dream and is a blast to drive(to me) since its my first manual car. But I Dont know if I want to start replacing STOCK PARTS with PERFORMANCE PARTS (exhaust, computer, turbo kit, suspension, headers, cooling, tranny, clutch, and possibly a few body mods). I have no idea what kind of power U can get out of the d16 SOHC v-tecs. Pics, tips, stories and examples would all be greatly appreciated Oh and also I was wondering if anyone else had seen a 95 civic ex with stock front and rear disk brakes? mine came with it and parts stores never have my car with rear disk brakes in their computers so i got 95 Integra rear pads and rotors and they work.
really, the only hope for an SOHC is FI(forced induction). and the key to FI is tuning. since u sound like you dont know a whole lot, you can buy a greddy turbo kit w/out the intercooler for about 1500, but then you have to get the intercooler. and what are you talking about you have your car with rear dick brakes in the computer? u dont need to do anything to the ECU for a rear disc swap. here are some things you shouldnt do or the dicks will come out of their caves and flame you. Do not put a hyphen in the word vtec. do not put an "H" in the word vtec. do not say headers because you only have one header. these are some helpful hints. welcome to h-t
i think he means his car has all wheel discs and the people at his autoparts stores cant find his car on their computer. but anyways.. some EXs had all wheel disc brakes. do you happen to have ABS? the ABS civics have all wheel discs i believe.
I have an Si and it comes with 4 wheel disc brakes, i believe the ex/si came like that. If you would really like to make some power then go with FI, cuz you wont be making much trying to do all motor sohc..if not just save up for a motor swap.

Ex's with ABS have 4 wheel discs as do SI (not to be confused with the canadian si which is the equivilent to the US EX) My 94 and 93 EX coupe do not have rear disc since it was NON ABS, but my 93 SI hatch does and does not have ABS.

Is what a sedan?? My cars... no there coupes, if you have ABS you get 4 wheel disc, if not abs then you get drum, unless you have an SI hatch. Pads are the same as an integra rear

Look under the hood for a metal like box on the pass side with a bunch of metal lines running into it.

i have a 2000 ex sohc i thought about the turbo but i did a supercharger i am way happier with the blower rather than the turbo its less stress on your motor and i have had zero problems rather than my freinds with turbos were everything seems to go wrong with there cars

You "thought" about a turbo, but went with a supercharger and you're way happer with it than the turbo even though you never tried out the turbo...I don't get how that makes sense.

hes saying maintenance wise..... but just for the record I love my JRSC but it is a little easier to make a turbo car faster, and as far as better running... problem free etc... its all in the tuning.

Yeah bro i have to agree Forced Induction is the way to make power for D's ... I'm running a Mini-ME w/ bolt-ons right now and besides the exhaust theres not much difference if your lookin for somethin drastic definitely go w/ FI
