85-87 D15a3 engine into 89 crx hf??
I know some will say why but, i love the "EW" engine. Plus have 3 of them just sitting here doin nothing. So has anyone here done this swap before? Are all the mounts needed goin to be custom made? How about axels, sure those may need work also.
Just looking for some info, car is ready and need to start this swap.

i don't believe the tranny will bolt up, so you would probably need custom axles. if you got the motor placement right, you might be able to get away with just some hybrid axles.
why do you like these engines so much? all the one's i've seen tend to burn oil bad. is it the carbs? i'm not sure if thats the carbed engine or is it the si one? i don't have my ew codes memorized. but, one thing i do know, is they have vaccuum advance on the dizzy's instead of electronic advance, so its a big wiring headache, unless you could rig up a different dizzy for it.

Thats what i was wondering, should of know custom mounts would be needed. Iv always liked the EW motors, had them in my 86 SI, 87 SI, and soon 87 HF. They have been really good for racing-street use. I also run the D16a6 motor my 89 crx si. Seems to be ok, just not sure about the trans holding slicks without problems. That being said, i have a extra d16a6 could just swap that into the 89 hf.. But who hasnt done that, thought id be alittle different with a ew in there.
Id love to do a B or K series swap but, also have a house and other bills to pay. So dumping $$$$ into the car is out of the question.
