Default LSvtec 91LS

Hey, currently I have a 91 LS. I just got a 99 ITR complete head with 29K miles on it. I have the ITR manifold and throttle body. Now, my original block has 176K miles on it. I am going to put in ITR pistons blockwise. But for the swap I am hoping just to use the Golden Eagle Kit. With using that kit, what else would I really need to do to have a good swap. The kit's is advertised that you do not need to machine the head, but how is that possible? Need some help. Thanks

You'll probably want to get a vtec water and oil pump, for their extra capacity over your stock LS ones, which probably need replacing anyway.
ARP head studs would be a good investment, you way want to consider.

I dont understand how they could tell u that the head doesn't need machining? You have a head with few miles on it and a block with a lot! There's no way that they're going to match up exactly.

While you're putting pistons in you might as well yank the whole block, do the oil/water pumps put in CTR pistons for a higher CR and it will be a lot easier installing the GE kit.

Make sure you get that DA tuned after!

You can get some ITR JE pistons for like 400-500. Are you goin to boost the motor?

okay , with your motor having over 150K i would save my money and build or at least rebuild the bottom end , not just the pistons , but everything ales has had lots of use and i don't know how much they sell you the eagle kit for , but a shop can , tap and plug your head and block for 50$$ or at least in sacramento . the ls head gasket 85$$ and all the fittings you need and hoes 50$$ but then again do you know what you are doing ???

dont forget youll have to change timing belt as well. i got gsr everything for mine. and to be cheap with it. i got my external hoses and fittings from lowes ($20.00). but i got gsr oil pump, water pump from local junkyard luckly with 55k on them both for under $100. timing belt and gasket kit ran me about $120 from auto zone. head tapped and shaved .35 for $15.00. but good luck with it. ls vtec is the best way to go. specially with itr pistons. peace
