Hi, I need to know how to put the axles back in the tranny. I read somewhere about something having to do with a pin they have or something, and I did search but it only came with disassembly stuff...so If you guys could help me I'd appreciate it

do the reverse of disassembly, no pins they just pop in.... if they won't go in take a small file and clean the bur's off the splines .. they should pop right in w/o to much effort.

 

there is a ring clip on the end of each axle that has to snap into place. i normally tap them in with a rubber mallet or you can get the out board side in and hold the hub like a steering wheel on a level plane and push it in. you'll feel it when it seats.

 

its best to turn the ring where the opening is at the bottom then just press it in

 

just play with them n wiggle them in. ull know wen there in

 

lol what ring??? i've been just been popping in axles into the tranny then into the hub and putting all the bolts back in they always seem to work good am i doing something wrong... not tring to thread jack im sure 90civichbsi wants to know also thanks

 

mess with the ring clip, i had to take needle nose pliars and tighten the ring down a little for my friends axles to go in. -the ring clip is on the end of the axle tranny side-

 

the silver thing is the ringclip.

j/w do you necissarely need that clip? can't you just use the axles w/o the clip?

 

if you don't have that clip, nothing stops your axles from creeping out of the tranny.

i doubt there is enough room for it to come all the way out, but it could strip it out (if you had a lot of power maybe?) and for sure it would leak oil badly.

 

I slapped mine in w/ my deadshot hammer (soft Faced). Then it popped right in. On jackstands in my driveway, I had no chance of getting any leverage to push it in...tried everything...deadshot hammer worked.
