codes are driving me crazy!!!!
car 88 hatch dx
d16z6 sohc vtec
conversion harness plug n play
p28 chipped
distributor jumper
replaced distributor
speedometer not workn
getting code 6,9,17,21
need help with all of them and i dont think my vtec is workn...
code6 i know is temperarture coolant sensor...
code9 is no.1 cylinder piston...
code17 is vss...
code21 is vtec solenoid...
car doesnt turn over immediately...need help...how do i fix all these problems...me and my co worker have been tryn to figure this out for a week now...we have feeling that its the wiring...the wires are crossed some where...but dont know which wires go where...and what color...

Wow, you have twice as many codes as I do.
Yea your vtec wouldn't work with those codes. This should help you out with codes 6, 9 and 17: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=468260.
Code 6: never dealt with it, but i would check the continuity and replacing the sensor and try it, check the link.
Code 9: From my experience, check the continuity of the wires between the distributor and at the ecu. If they are not continuous, replace the wires. If it is continuous, resolder the connections at the ecu and make sure the connection at the distributor plug is good. Also try replacing your spark plug wires. If that fails, make sure you distributor wiring is right, triple check that. If that doesn't work, you need a new distributor.
Code 17: I will be doing this soon, I have this code. As far as this goes, again check the continuity between the vss and the ecu. If there is not continuity, replace wires. Prop the car up and spin the front tires, check to see if the vss is sending voltage to the ecu. I don't know what the correct voltage should be, but in the link I gave you, it should say more. If there is no voltage, you need a new vss. If there is voltage and continuity, resolder the connection at the ecu. If you still have the code, I have no idea.
Code 21: I would say replace the vtec solenoid. Check all the o-rings and oil screen while you are at it. Like you didn't see this coming... check for continuity.
