So I bought my 196,500 mile gs-r to the dyno today and these were the results......
testing was done on a dynojet dyno. Both pulls were 3rd gear pulls.
Intake air temp: 60.9 degrees
Vapor pressure: .4 in.Hg
Barometric pressure: 29.80 in.Hg
First pull was 153.1 whp (156 SAE corrected) and 114.5 ft lbs of torque (116 SAE corrected).
Mods: bone stock motor
thermal exhaust
skunk2 chipped ecu
aerospeed grounding wires
power steering removed with padawans kit ( finally proof that this makes a big difference !)
THATS IT ! Intake was stock, header and cat were also stock.
For the second pull, all we did was bolt in my buddy's custom header.
160 whp (163 SAE corrected) amd 122 ft lbs of torque (124 ft lbs SAE corrected)
What do you guys think ? I think that pretty damn good for a 196,000 mile motor !
From what i understand, stock gs-rs put down around 150ish, if they are in perfect running condition, so I think the fact that I was able to hit 163 with so many miles on just a bolt on exhaust and header, with a skunk2 chip and grounding kit kicks ***.....
I have a jpeg of the dyno graph , but we-todd-did-racing is flaking out for somer eason. If someone could temporarily host the dyno chart, I would appreciate it; thanks for looking guys !

great numbers
but i think your supose to dyno on 4th gear not 3rd
ever tuner that i seen always does 4th gear pulls

arent you supposed to dyno the car when the speedo and rpms are increasing almost in sync? which would be fourth i believe?

3rd gear pulls usually show the best presentable power ratings....
4th gear pulls show the best true representation of your engine's power.
This is all my assumption based on comparing my last 2 dyno sheets

haha well 3rd or 4rth gear, 196,000 miles is 196,000 miles !
I see alot of threads where people are asking whether they shoudl get a high mileage gs-r....heres the answer lol

AWESOME!
I hope my high mileage gsr can still pull good numbers by the time I dyno again

3rd and 4th gear make the same amount of power
